| HYDRAULIC DIAPHRAGM PUMPS |
| Applications |
| Suitable for non hazardous liquids. |
| |
| Standard Type |
The diaphragm is hydraulically actuated. Its function is basically that of a partition. The diaphragm material is usually Teflon.
This can be used for extreme duty conditions or when handling slurry. A rupture detection system can be provided to detect diaphragm failure in order to prevent the contamination of the metered fluid. |
• |
- There is no leakage of the process fluid as it is hermatically sealed.
|
• |
- The diaphragm has a long life as it is always in hydraulic balance with the liquid being pumped on one side and process fluid on the opposite side.
|
• |
The system is safe guarded by a built in relief vacuum valve on the hydraulic side. |
• |
- Very high pumping pressures can be attained.
|
|
| |
| Double Diaphragm Type |
This too can be used for extreme duty conditions or when handling slurry. A rupture detection system can be provided to detect diaphragm failure in order to prevent the contamination of the metered fluid.
An intermediate chamber is provided into which very small quantity of a suitable intermediate fluid is filled.
This fluid serves to link the two diaphragms. On failure
of the diaphragm the process fluid will add to the intermediate fluid resulting in a change in the conductivity / specific resistivity which can be detected. |
• |
- Suitable for pumping slurries and viscous liquids.
|
• |
- Diaphragm rupture detection can be provided.
|
|
| |
| Sandwich Diaphragm Type |
Two diaphragms and a spacer sheet, linked together by vacuum are provided. In case of diaphragm failure the vacuum turns to pressure which is indicated by a Vacuum cum Pressure gauge/switch. This can be used for extreme
duty conditions or when handling slurry. A rupture detection system can be provided to detect diaphragm failure in order to prevent the contamination of the metered fluid. |
• |
- There is no intermediate fluid which virtually eliminates the possibilites of contamination of the pumped liquid.
|
• |
- Diaphragm rupture detection can be provided.
|
|
| |
| Open Dish Sandwich Diaphragm Type |
This can be used for extreme duty conditions or when handling slurry. A rupture detection system can be provided to detect diaphragm failure in order to prevent the contamination of the metered fluid.
The diaphragm rupture detection system is similar to the standard sandwich diaphragm type. The construction permits the pumping of slurries and viscous liquids. |
| Advantages of Sandwich Diaphragm type pumps |
• |
- They are ideally suited for pumping slurries and viscous liquids.
|
• |
- They have Low NPSHR requirement.
